Free Animal Cage Blueprints

Seeking Harriers.

Firstly, apologies as to illustrate this post I have included photos I've searched the web, I hope that the authors were comfortable in their copyright.

As we are preparing the 2011 Aguiluchos Campaign, we are currently kicking potential nesting areas in search of the marsh harriers, especially males, though not averse to the females do, this week I put my two cents, I found two possible new nesting area of \u200b\u200bthe species, and seeing the calico, we must consider the kick of all gravel pits in the province.

In the 2006 national census, the results for this province was 2 couples and 1 probably possible, to date, we have identified 24 territories nidificacón possible, we will see in May how many couples go from possible to probable and especially how we are able to locate nests.

In short stroll, I found two great egrets in a gravel pit near Alba de Tormes, and another in the Tormes passing through the town of Encinas de Abajo. Like all that I have news in Salamanca are immature.

Another bug that has caught my attention, mainly because of the shortage in this area has been a heron Imperial I went into another gravel pit near Encinas, presumably it is an individual step, but as I pass through the area will be playing more often in search of the harriers, you pay attention to if you get to stay to breed, then if that will be a championship event.

In Merdero Brook Pond in Villoruela, where I located 2 females and 1 male harrier, and knew the presence of at least a couple in the area, I found at least 2 males and 1 female nightingale chested, and as the photo is from the white medal. They are people in step, they were not cited in the area, so this if it is good.

Finally for today, commenting that the pair of white stork breeding Pedrezuela St. Brice is the nest has fallen yet again, this time I had eggs .

kestrel.

The kestrel are already among us, as I said in other entries, this week I've been monitoring some colonies in the Riolobos environment, but for now what more play da is the Pedrezuela.

Currently
males and females roost in the roof, constantly in the same positions, so I guess they are choosing the gaps where will build their nests, although so far I have not seen any mating.

Some people are put in holes known as the male of the two photos above. At the moment we have not detected the attempt to use nest boxes in our house. As nest boxes line of light poles, it seems that the vulgar of P2 will reuse the nest box, the rest, I've seen the constant use of the boxes by a pair of kestrel .

Macho on a roof. is ringing.
banded individuals
I searched, I have seen at least two metal ring alone is probably the marked by Raul Alonso and his team. I could also see some with PVC ring, both the green and the white, although the only one I could read through the T27, is a male, we mark it as an adult in the summer of 2006, and since then we've seen all season.

To finish, put a series of photos of a possible new location is a small hole in a wall, is so narrow that costs a few seconds to get out as you can see, the series is far longer, I've gathered a little.

After Glandular Fever Are You Still Contagious

Veterinary Assistant.

This morning, the only thing I did was go to the Reception Center of Las Dunas, to help Alberto, one of the veterinarians to bind up the bug of the photos, which has a very committed fracture the ulna, but very close to the elbow joint. As the Junta de Castilla y León provides no means the center, the hawk will go to the "capital" to see if they fix it a little.
The fracture was so close to the elbow, inflammation itself remained the wing in a position to even stick a vuelillo.

When we finished with the hawk, we started to cut the beak of a male kestrel. Has been in captivity and the peak has grown in excess, a cut and a little lime and already seems normal. Are the problems they bring to keep birds in captivity, they are not given or the power or the necessary care. If me, I would not allow anyone to take home any wild animal as a pet. In this case it is forbidden.

Does Citronella Hurt Rabbits

The end of the building of La Salle

As I mentioned in another entry, the building of La Salle, where he four pairs of kestrels was sold by the city of Salamanca to floors a few weeks ago started their demolition as shown in the series of images below:

The result is that pigeons are bereft of "his" building for breeding, although this is not the kind that worries me.

kestrel nest boxes.

During the last week of February we learned that the owners of the farmhouse were Riolobos works, but removing two damaged roof with Arabic tiles to replace sheet. In the farmhouse there is a good colony of lesser kestrel, thirtysomething couples, 2 or 3 seasons ago replaced a roof about 500 square meters of tile, there were nearly 20 pairs, we thought they were going to go, but the rest were distributed roofs, are now loaded other 475 square meters, bringing in two or three years has gone more than half of the surface tejada. When they finish the work will be approximately 935 meters square.

In the first statement we made contact with the environmental prosecutor, but shelved the case, so this time we have contacted the property so that we dejasen put nest boxes, have given us permission, so on Sunday February 27 we approached the area equipped with stairs and got to the job.

Roofs have been removed.

boxes more closely.

In total we have placed 13 new nest boxes, of which three are made of recycled hives older properties which are split in half, so in theory could Alvergue two couples . If we add another 4 boxes you've placed in previous seasons, a total of 20 new holes to install the nest. And we'll see what happens, if you take one or not.

of the nest boxes installed, there are 4 of the remaining concrete and wood.

To continue with the kestrel, on the other farm (Pedrezuela St. Brice), we have cleared all azap installed nest boxes last season at left power lines, six in our house and installed a new nest box on a wall.

They're here and you go liadillos kestrel. This week in Pedrezuela had no fewer than 30 individuals, between males and females.
